1. Scope of the Manuscript

مقالے کا موضوع

Sabrang Research Journal primarily publishes original research on Urdu language, literature, literary criticism, linguistics, translation, comparative literature, culture, and related areas of the humanities and social sciences. Submitted manuscripts should have a clear and meaningful connection with the scope of the journal.

سبرنگ ریسرچ جرنل بنیادی طور پر اردو زبان و ادب، ادبی تنقید، لسانیات، ترجمہ، تقابلی ادب، ثقافت اور انسانی علوم و سماجی علوم سے متعلق اصل تحقیقی مقالات شائع کرتا ہے۔ جمع کرایا جانے والا مقالہ مجلے کے دائرۂ کار سے واضح اور بامعنی تعلق رکھتا ہو۔

2. Originality of the Manuscript

مقالے کی اصالت

The submitted manuscript must be original and should not have been published previously. It must not be simultaneously under consideration by another journal.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that all ideas, quotations, data, figures, tables, and other material taken from other sources are properly acknowledged and referenced.

جمع کرایا جانے والا مقالہ اصل اور غیر مطبوعہ ہونا چاہیے اور اس سے قبل کسی دوسرے مجلے میں شائع نہ ہوا ہو۔ ایک ہی مقالہ بیک وقت کسی دوسرے مجلے میں اشاعت کے لیے زیرِ غور نہیں ہونا چاہیے۔

مصنفین اس بات کے ذمہ دار ہیں کہ دیگر ذرائع سے حاصل کیے گئے تمام خیالات، اقتباسات، اعداد و شمار، اشکال، جدولوں اور دیگر مواد کے مناسب حوالے اور ماخذ درج کیے جائیں۔

3. File Format

فائل کا فارمیٹ

The manuscript should be submitted in an editable Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).

The manuscript should be properly formatted and carefully proofread before submission.

مقالہ قابلِ تدوین مائیکروسافٹ ورڈ فارمیٹ (.doc یا .docx) میں جمع کرایا جائے۔

مقالہ ارسال کرنے سے قبل اس کی فارمیٹنگ مکمل اور اغلاط کی مناسب اصلاح کر لی جائے۔

4. Language of the Manuscript

مقالے کی زبان

Sabrang Research Journal primarily welcomes research manuscripts in Urdu. Scholarly articles in English may also be considered where they fall within the scope of the journal.

سبرنگ ریسرچ جرنل بنیادی طور پر اردو زبان میں تحقیقی مقالات قبول کرتا ہے۔ انگریزی زبان میں تحریر کیے گئے ایسے علمی مقالات بھی زیرِ غور لائے جا سکتے ہیں جو مجلے کے دائرۂ کار سے متعلق ہوں۔

5. Title, Author Information, Abstract and Keywords

عنوان، مصنف کی معلومات، تلخیص اور کلیدی الفاظ

The manuscript should include:

  • Title of the article in Urdu and English;
  • Author's full name;
  • Institutional affiliation, if applicable;
  • Designation, if applicable;
  • City and country;
  • Email address;
  • ORCID iD, if available;
  • Abstract in Urdu and English; and
  • Keywords in Urdu and English.

The abstract should normally be between 150 and 250 words and should briefly present the research problem, objectives, methodology or approach, major findings, and scholarly contribution of the study.

A suitable number of keywords, normally 5–8, should be provided.

مقالے میں درج ذیل معلومات فراہم کی جائیں:

  • مقالے کا عنوان اردو اور انگریزی دونوں زبانوں میں؛
  • مصنف کا مکمل نام؛
  • ادارے سے وابستگی، اگر موجود ہو؛
  • عہدہ، اگر قابلِ اطلاق ہو؛
  • شہر اور ملک؛
  • ای میل؛
  • او آر سی آئی ڈی، اگر موجود ہو؛
  • اردو اور انگریزی میں تلخیص؛
  • اردو اور انگریزی میں کلیدی الفاظ۔

تلخیص عموماً ۱۵۰ تا ۲۵۰ الفاظ پر مشتمل ہو اور اس میں تحقیق کا مسئلہ، مقاصد، طریقۂ تحقیق یا تحقیقی زاویہ، اہم نتائج اور علمی افادیت کا مختصر بیان شامل ہو۔

مقالے کے لیے عموماً ۵ تا ۸ کلیدی الفاظ فراہم کیے جائیں۔

6. Manuscript Structure

مقالے کی ساخت

Where appropriate, a research article should generally follow a clear academic structure. Depending on the nature of the research, it may include:

  • Title
  • Abstract
  • Keywords
  • Introduction
  • Research Problem / Questions
  • Objectives
  • Methodology or Research Approach
  • Main Discussion / Analysis
  • Findings
  • Conclusion
  • References

The exact structure may vary according to the subject and methodology of the research.

تحقیقی مقالہ حتی الامکان واضح علمی ساخت کے مطابق مرتب کیا جائے۔ تحقیق کی نوعیت کے لحاظ سے اس میں درج ذیل اجزا شامل ہو سکتے ہیں:

تحقیق کے موضوع اور طریقۂ کار کے مطابق اس ترتیب میں مناسب تبدیلی کی جا سکتی ہے۔

7. Length of the Manuscript

مقالے کی طوالت

The manuscript should be sufficiently detailed to present the research problem, evidence, analysis, and conclusions clearly. Authors should avoid unnecessary repetition and excessive length.

The journal may specify a word or page limit for particular types of submissions when necessary.

مقالہ اتنی تفصیل کے ساتھ تحریر کیا جائے کہ مسئلۂ تحقیق، شواہد، تجزیہ اور نتائج واضح طور پر پیش ہو سکیں۔ غیر ضروری تکرار اور غیر معمولی طوالت سے گریز کیا جائے۔

ضرورت کے مطابق مجلہ مخصوص نوعیت کی تحریروں کے لیے الفاظ یا صفحات کی حد مقرر کر سکتا ہے۔

8. Formatting and Presentation

فارمیٹنگ اور پیش کش

Authors should ensure that the manuscript is consistently formatted throughout.

For Urdu manuscripts:

  • Use a clear and readable Unicode Urdu font;
  • Maintain consistent font size and formatting;
  • Use proper Urdu punctuation;
  • Ensure correct right-to-left alignment;
  • Clearly distinguish headings and subheadings; and
  • Avoid unnecessary decorative formatting.

For English manuscripts, use a standard readable Unicode font and consistent academic formatting.

مصنفین اس بات کو یقینی بنائیں کہ پورے مقالے میں یکساں فارمیٹنگ اختیار کی گئی ہو۔

اردو مقالے کے لیے:

  • واضح اور قابلِ مطالعہ یونی کوڈ اردو فونٹ استعمال کیا جائے؛
  • فونٹ کے حجم اور فارمیٹنگ میں یکسانیت رکھی جائے؛
  • اردو رموزِ اوقاف کا درست استعمال کیا جائے؛
  • دائیں سے بائیں سمت اور مناسب محاذ بندی برقرار رکھی جائے؛
  • عنوانات اور ذیلی عنوانات کو واضح رکھا جائے؛
  • غیر ضروری آرائشی فارمیٹنگ سے گریز کیا جائے۔

انگریزی مقالے کے لیے بھی واضح یونی کوڈ فونٹ اور یکساں علمی فارمیٹنگ اختیار کی جائے۔

9. References and Citations

حوالہ جات اور حوالہ دینے کا طریقہ

Sabrang Research Journal uses the Turabian citation style, preferably the Notes-Bibliography system, for scholarly references.

Authors should use a consistent citation style throughout the manuscript.

All sources cited in the manuscript should be properly documented, and all works listed in the bibliography or references should correspond to sources cited in the text or notes.

For further information, authors may consult the journal's Citation Style guidelines available on the journal website.

سبرنگ ریسرچ جرنل علمی حوالہ جات کے لیے ٹربیئن طرزِ حوالہ، بالخصوص نوٹس اینڈ بائبلیوگرافی نظام، استعمال کرتا ہے۔

پورے مقالے میں حوالہ دینے کا ایک ہی طریقہ مستقل طور پر اختیار کیا جائے۔

مقالے میں جن ذرائع سے استفادہ کیا گیا ہو ان کے مناسب حوالے درج کیے جائیں اور حوالہ جات یا کتابیات میں شامل تمام ماخذ کا متن یا حواشی میں موجود حوالوں سے مطابقت ہونا ضروری ہے۔

10. Book Citation

کتاب کا حوالہ

For a book, the citation should generally include the author's full name, title of the book, place of publication, publisher, year of publication, and page number where applicable.

Example:

Gopi Chand Narang, Saakhtiyat, Pas-Saakhtiyat aur Mashriqi Shairiyat (Lahore: Sang-e-Meel Publications, 1985), 78.

کتاب کے حوالے میں عموماً مصنف کا مکمل نام، کتاب کا عنوان، مقامِ اشاعت، ناشر، سنِ اشاعت اور متعلقہ صفحہ نمبر درج کیا جائے۔

مثال:

گوپی چند نارنگ، ساختیات، پس ساختیات اور مشرقی شعریات (لاہور: سنگِ میل پبلی کیشنز، ۱۹۸۵ء)، ص ۷۸۔

اگر ایک ہی کتاب سے متعدد بار استفادہ کیا گیا ہو تو بعد کے حوالوں میں مناسب مختصر حوالہ استعمال کیا جا سکتا ہے۔

11. Journal Article Citation

رسالے کے مقالے کا حوالہ

A journal article citation should generally include the author's name, article title, journal title, volume, issue, publication year, and page number.

Example:

Ali Abbas, “The Role of Literature in Society,” Oriental Journal of Literature 12, no. 2 (2011): 21.

تحقیقی رسالے کے مقالے کے حوالے میں عموماً مصنف کا نام، مقالے کا عنوان، رسالے کا نام، جلد، شمارہ، سنِ اشاعت اور صفحہ نمبر درج کیا جائے۔

مثال:

علی عباس، ’’ادب اور سماج کا تعلق،‘‘ اورینٹل جرنل آف لٹریچر، جلد ۱۲، شمارہ ۲ (۲۰۱۱ء)، ص ۲۱۔

12. Online Sources

آن لائن ذرائع کا حوالہ

When citing an online source, authors should provide the author or organization name where available, title of the page or document, website name, publication or update date where available, access date, and URL or DOI.

A DOI should be preferred over a long URL where a DOI is available.

آن لائن ماخذ کا حوالہ دیتے وقت، جہاں دستیاب ہو، مصنف یا ادارے کا نام، صفحے یا دستاویز کا عنوان، ویب سائٹ کا نام، اشاعت یا تازہ کاری کی تاریخ، رسائی کی تاریخ اور یو آر ایل یا ڈی او آئی درج کیا جائے۔

جہاں ڈی او آئی دستیاب ہو وہاں طویل یو آر ایل کے بجائے ڈی او آئی کو ترجیح دی جائے۔

13. Transliterated References

رومن رسم الخط میں حوالہ جات

For Urdu references, authors may be required to provide a transliterated form of the bibliographic information where necessary for indexing, metadata, or international discoverability.

The journal may provide a preferred transliteration format for this purpose.

اردو حوالہ جات کے لیے اشاریہ سازی، میٹا ڈیٹا یا بین الاقوامی سطح پر تلاش میں سہولت کے پیشِ نظر، ضرورت کے مطابق حوالہ جاتی معلومات کو رومن رسم الخط میں بھی فراہم کرنے کے لیے کہا جا سکتا ہے۔

مجلہ اس مقصد کے لیے رومنائزیشن کا تجویز کردہ طریقہ بھی مقرر کر سکتا ہے۔

14. Quotations and Reproduced Material

اقتباسات اور مستعار مواد

Direct quotations should be clearly identified and properly cited.

Authors must obtain permission where required for reproducing copyrighted figures, tables, photographs, illustrations, or substantial portions of previously published material.

For further information, authors should consult the journal's Copyright & Licensing Policy.

براہِ راست اقتباسات کو واضح طور پر الگ کیا جائے اور ان کا مناسب حوالہ دیا جائے۔

کسی دوسرے کے حقوقِ تصنیف کے حامل اشکال، جدولوں، تصاویر، Illustrations یا پہلے سے شائع شدہ مواد کے قابلِ ذکر حصے کو دوبارہ شائع کرنے کے لیے جہاں اجازت ضروری ہو وہاں مصنف خود مناسب اجازت حاصل کرے۔

15. Plagiarism and Similarity

سرقۂ علمی اور مماثلت

Authors must ensure that the manuscript is free from plagiarism and other forms of academic misconduct.

The journal may conduct a similarity check before or during the review process. Similarity reports are evaluated by the editorial team and are not treated as an automatic determination of plagiarism.

Authors should properly cite all sources and should not present another person's words, ideas, data, arguments, figures, or other intellectual contributions as their own.

Authors are also expected to comply with the journal's Plagiarism Policy and Publication Ethics requirements.

مصنفین اس بات کو یقینی بنائیں کہ مقالہ سرقۂ علمی اور دیگر اقسام کی علمی بدعنوانی سے پاک ہو۔

مجلہ جائزے کے عمل سے قبل یا اس کے دوران متن کی مماثلت کی جانچ کر سکتا ہے۔ مماثلت کی رپورٹ کو اداریاتی ٹیم جانچ کے ایک ذریعے کے طور پر استعمال کرے گی اور محض مماثلت کی شرح کو خودکار طور پر سرقۂ علمی کا ثبوت نہیں سمجھا جائے گا۔

تمام ذرائع کے مناسب حوالے دیے جائیں اور کسی دوسرے شخص کے الفاظ، خیالات، اعداد و شمار، دلائل، اشکال یا دیگر علمی کاوش کو اپنے نام سے پیش نہ کیا جائے۔

مصنفین سے یہ بھی توقع کی جاتی ہے کہ وہ مجلے کی سرقۂ علمی سے متعلق پالیسی اور اشاعتی اخلاقیات کے تقاضوں کی پابندی کریں۔

16. Author Declaration

مصنف کا اقرار

At the time of submission, authors may be required to confirm that:

  • The manuscript is original;
  • It has not been published previously;
  • It is not under simultaneous consideration elsewhere;
  • All sources have been appropriately acknowledged;
  • All listed authors have made an appropriate contribution; and
  • The authors accept responsibility for the academic integrity of the manuscript.

Authors may download the Author Declaration Form from the journal's Downloads page. The completed declaration should be submitted where required by the journal.

مقالہ جمع کراتے وقت مصنفین سے درج ذیل امور کی تصدیق طلب کی جا سکتی ہے:

  • مقالہ اصل اور غیر مطبوعہ ہے؛
  • یہ پہلے کہیں شائع نہیں ہوا؛
  • یہ بیک وقت کسی دوسرے مجلے میں زیرِ غور نہیں؛
  • تمام ذرائع کے مناسب حوالے دیے گئے ہیں؛
  • درج تمام مصنفین نے مقالے میں مناسب علمی حصہ لیا ہے؛
  • مصنفین مقالے کی علمی دیانت اور اصالت کی ذمہ داری قبول کرتے ہیں۔

مصنفین مصنف کے اقرار نامے کو مجلے کے Downloads صفحے سے حاصل کر سکتے ہیں۔ جہاں ضروری ہو، مکمل شدہ اقرار نامہ مقالے کے ساتھ جمع کرایا جائے۔

17. Authorship

تصنیف و تالیف

Only individuals who have made a substantial intellectual or scholarly contribution to the research should be listed as authors.

All listed authors should approve the final version of the manuscript and agree to its submission.

Changes to authorship after submission should be communicated to the editorial office and may require written consent from all authors.

صرف وہی افراد مصنفین میں شامل کیے جائیں جنہوں نے تحقیق یا مقالے میں نمایاں علمی یا فکری کردار ادا کیا ہو۔

تمام مصنفین کو مقالے کے آخری نسخے کی منظوری دینی چاہیے اور اس کی اشاعت کے لیے جمع کرانے پر رضامند ہونا چاہیے۔

مقالہ جمع ہونے کے بعد مصنفین کی فہرست میں کسی تبدیلی کے لیے اداریاتی دفتر کو مطلع کرنا اور تمام مصنفین کی تحریری رضامندی درکار ہو سکتی ہے۔

18. Conflict of Interest

مفادات کا ٹکراؤ

Authors must disclose any financial, personal, professional, institutional, or other conflict of interest that could influence the research or its interpretation.

مصنفین پر لازم ہے کہ وہ کسی بھی مالی، ذاتی، پیشہ ورانہ، ادارہ جاتی یا دیگر ایسے مفاد کے ٹکراؤ کی اطلاع دیں جو تحقیق یا اس کی تعبیر پر اثر انداز ہو سکتا ہو۔

19. Use of Artificial Intelligence

مصنوعی ذہانت کا استعمال

Authors remain responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and ethical quality of their manuscripts.

Generative AI tools must not be listed as authors or co-authors.

Where the use of AI has materially contributed to the preparation, translation, analysis, editing, or other substantive aspects of a manuscript, authors should disclose such use in accordance with the journal's AI policy.

Authors must independently verify AI-generated information, references, quotations, facts, and interpretations before submission.

مصنفین اپنے مقالے کی صحت، اصالت، علمی دیانت اور اخلاقی معیار کے مکمل طور پر ذمہ دار ہوں گے۔

مصنوعی ذہانت پر مبنی جنریٹو ٹولز کو مصنف یا شریکِ مصنف کے طور پر درج نہیں کیا جا سکتا۔

مصنفین مقالہ جمع کرانے سے قبل مصنوعی ذہانت سے حاصل شدہ معلومات، حوالہ جات، اقتباسات، حقائق اور نتائج کی خود تصدیق کریں۔

20. Submission Through OJS

او جے ایس کے ذریعے مقالہ جمع کرانا

Sabrang Research Journal uses an online submission and editorial management system. Authors should submit their manuscripts through the journal's OJS submission system.

Authors should complete all required submission fields and upload the manuscript and any additional documents requested by the journal.

Authors should not submit the same manuscript simultaneously through multiple channels.

Submission and publication-related procedures are governed by the journal's Publishing Policy.

سبرنگ ریسرچ جرنل مقالہ جات کی وصولی اور اداریاتی انتظام کے لیے آن لائن نظام استعمال کرتا ہے۔ مصنفین اپنے مقالے مجلے کے او جے ایس نظام کے ذریعے جمع کرائیں۔

21. Submission Checklist

مقالہ جمع کرانے سے پہلے جانچ فہرست

Before submitting your manuscript, please ensure that:

  • The manuscript falls within the scope of Sabrang Research Journal.
  • The manuscript is original and has not been published elsewhere.
  • It is not simultaneously under consideration by another journal.
  • The manuscript is submitted in an editable Word format.
  • The title, abstract, and keywords are provided in the required languages.
  • Author information has been entered correctly in OJS.
  • All quotations and sources have been properly cited.
  • References are presented consistently according to the journal's citation style.
  • The manuscript has been carefully proofread.
  • Plagiarism and academic integrity requirements have been observed.
  • Any conflict of interest has been disclosed.
  • All authors have approved the submitted manuscript.
  • Any required declaration or supporting document has been uploaded.

22. Editorial Screening and Peer Review

اداریاتی جانچ اور ہم مرتبہ جائزہ

Submission of a manuscript does not guarantee publication.

All manuscripts are subject to initial editorial screening. Manuscripts that meet the basic requirements of the journal may be sent for double-blind peer review.

The final decision to accept, revise, or reject a manuscript rests with the Editor-in-Chief or the authorized editor.

Authors should also consult the journal's Peer Review Policy for information about the review process.

مقالہ جمع کرانے کا مطلب یہ نہیں کہ اس کی اشاعت یقینی ہے۔

تمام مقالوں کو ابتدائی اداریاتی جانچ کے مرحلے سے گزرنا ہوگا۔ بنیادی تقاضے پورے کرنے والے مقالوں کو دو طرفہ مخفی ہم مرتبہ جائزے کے لیے بھیجا جا سکتا ہے۔

مقالے کو قبول کرنے، ترمیم کے لیے واپس بھیجنے یا مسترد کرنے کا حتمی فیصلہ مدیرِ اعلیٰ یا مجاز مدیر کا ہوگا۔

23. Publication Charges

اشاعتی فیس

Sabrang Research Journal's current policy regarding submission charges, article processing charges, and other publication-related fees will be clearly stated on the journal website.

Authors should not make any payment unless a fee has been officially announced by the journal through its official website or OJS system.

سبرنگ ریسرچ جرنل کی جانب سے مقالہ جمع کرانے کی فیس، اشاعتی فیس یا دیگر اشاعتی اخراجات سے متعلق موجودہ پالیسی مجلے کی ویب سائٹ پر واضح طور پر درج کی جائے گی۔
