Publishing Policy

Sabrang Research Journal is committed to maintaining a transparent, fair, and academically sound publishing process. The journal publishes original scholarly research in accordance with its editorial policies, peer-review standards, and applicable principles of publication ethics.

The following publishing policies apply to all manuscripts submitted to the journal.

1. Publication Frequency

Sabrang Research Journal is published twice a year.

First Issue: June

Second Issue: December

The journal may publish additional special issues when considered appropriate by the editorial team.

2. Originality of Manuscripts

The journal considers original research papers that have not been previously published and are not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

Authors must ensure that the submitted manuscript is their original work and that all sources, quotations, ideas, data, and other material taken from other works are properly acknowledged.

Authors are also required to submit an Originality Declaration/Undertaking confirming that the submitted manuscript is original and has not been published or simultaneously submitted elsewhere.

3. Simultaneous Submission

Once a manuscript has been submitted to Sabrang Research Journal, the author(s) should not submit the same manuscript to another journal while it is under consideration by Sabrang Research Journal.

If the manuscript is rejected by the journal, the author(s) are free to submit it elsewhere.

Authors who wish to withdraw a manuscript while it is under review should contact the editorial office and formally request withdrawal.

4. Selection and Editorial Decision

All submitted manuscripts are subject to an initial editorial assessment to determine whether they:

  • fall within the scope of the journal;

  • meet the basic requirements of scholarly research;

  • follow the journal's submission and formatting guidelines;

  • demonstrate sufficient originality and academic relevance; and

  • are suitable for further peer review.

A manuscript may be rejected at the initial stage if it does not meet the basic requirements of the journal.

Manuscripts that pass the initial assessment are sent for peer review according to the journal's review policy.

The final decision to accept, revise, or reject a manuscript rests with the Editor-in-Chief or the authorized editor, taking into consideration the reviewers' recommendations and the overall academic quality of the manuscript.

5. Priority to New and Diverse Contributions

The journal aims to provide opportunities for a diverse range of researchers and scholars to contribute to its issues.

While selecting papers for publication, the editorial team may consider the diversity of authors and institutions represented in an issue.

However, publication decisions are ultimately based on the academic quality, originality, relevance, and scholarly contribution of the manuscript and not simply on whether an author is new to the journal.

A manuscript by an author who has published previously in the journal may be considered again when it meets the journal's academic and editorial standards.

6. Editor's Choice

From time to time, the journal may highlight selected articles on its homepage or other prominent sections under Editor's Choice.

Articles selected for Editor's Choice may be those considered particularly significant, original, relevant, or noteworthy based on the editorial assessment and peer-review process.

Being featured as an Editor's Choice does not constitute a separate publication category and does not affect the peer-review requirements applicable to the manuscript.

7. Manuscript Preparation

Authors are required to prepare their manuscripts according to the Author Guidelines available on the journal's website.

Manuscripts that do not follow the basic submission, formatting, referencing, language, or presentation requirements may be returned to the authors for correction or may not be considered for further processing.

The editorial team may request authors to make necessary corrections before the manuscript is sent for peer review.

8. Peer Review

Sabrang Research Journal follows a peer-review process for research manuscripts.

The journal aims to ensure that manuscripts are evaluated by reviewers with appropriate subject expertise.

Reviewers are expected to provide objective, constructive, and confidential assessments.

The editorial decision is made after considering the reviewers' reports and the academic merits of the manuscript.

9. Plagiarism and Academic Integrity

The journal takes plagiarism and other forms of academic misconduct seriously.

Manuscripts may be checked using appropriate similarity or plagiarism-detection tools.

Where plagiarism, duplicate publication, fabrication, falsification, or other serious academic misconduct is suspected, the journal may take appropriate action in accordance with its Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement and applicable academic integrity standards in India.

The journal follows relevant principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and applicable UGC academic integrity and plagiarism standards.

10. Publication Charges

The journal's policy regarding article processing charges, submission charges, or other publication-related fees shall be clearly stated on the journal website.

If the journal does not charge authors any publication or processing fee, this will be clearly communicated to authors and readers.

11. Corrections and Retractions

The journal may publish corrections, clarifications, expressions of concern, or retractions when necessary to maintain the accuracy and integrity of the published scholarly record.

Such actions will be taken in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policy and recognized principles of responsible scholarly publishing.

12. Copyright and Licensing

Copyright and licensing arrangements applicable to published articles shall be clearly communicated to authors before publication.

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission for the use of copyrighted material where such permission is required.

13. Right to Amend the Publishing Policy

Sabrang Research Journal may periodically review and update its publishing policies to reflect developments in scholarly communication, publication ethics, academic standards, and applicable regulations.

Any significant changes to the policy will be communicated through the journal website.

14. Commitment to Fair and Transparent Publishing

Sabrang Research Journal is committed to providing a fair, transparent, and academically rigorous publication process.

Editorial decisions are based on scholarly considerations and are not influenced by an author's gender, religion, ethnicity, nationality, institutional affiliation, seniority, political views, personal relationships, or other irrelevant characteristics.

The journal aims to maintain the integrity of the academic record and to promote responsible research and scholarly communication.
